#THE FOXHOLE COURT CHARACTERS FULL#Part 2/3 of the All for the Healing full series rewrite aftgĬass Spear had felt nauseous for so long it was beginning to feel as if she couldn’t even remember when it started. The point is not to sanitize the actions of the characters but just to parse them a little differently. The power of the antagonists is reduced in order to play with the idea that not all Neil and Kevin's trauma induced paranoia is accurate to reality but they're doing the best they can. Foxes are Foxes because of their pasts, and Riko Moriyama wants to use that against more than just Neil.Ī full rewrite of The Foxhole Court reworking in particular those elements of canon relating to mental health and trauma to be more in line with medical understandings and realistic pharmacology. But as he wakes up on his coach's couch the night after antagonizing the captain of a powerful rival team with links to Neil's past, he knows that dying might not be his only problem. All he wants is to play Exy, protect his team, and live until he dies. (*I have been considering writing a fic that flashes between the pass and present and deals with the Irish games influence on exy when Kayleigh was inventing it but who knows if that will ever happen*)įrom book descriptions it does seem like the game resets after every foul, goal, or injury and that substitutions can be made during any reset. The idea being that this makes you vulnerable to having the ball stolen by opposing players. In hurling you balance the ball (sliotar) on the flat part of your hurl while run and after 3 steps bounce it into the air and then balance it again. In hurling and gaelic football which is also face paced and on a field even bigger than a soccer field, players can only take 3 steps then have to either pass (there are 15 players per side) or “solo” which is the equivalent of passing to yourself. Exy players can “pass” to themselves off the ground, walls and ceiling. The ten steps thing only makes sense in the context of the rebounds element that doesn’t (I assume) exist in lacrosse. I’ll admit my lacrosse knowledge is limited, since I’m not american, and so I’ve used hockey, hurling and soccer as my main points of comparison beyond my basic understanding of lacrosse gear and that time I watched teen wolf when I had strep. Never apologise for the long ask and thank you for climbing into this rabbit hole with me.
